Hello! My name is Fernando Hidalgo Pineda, I am currently a graduate student in computational astrophysics at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics, also working with the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy and the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut in Heidelberg. I study multiphase gas dynamics and turbulence across multiple scales and processes, including gas flows, the ISM, and the CGM, using theory and MHD simulations. In general, I am driven by fundamental questions about the origin of cold gas in hot environments and the details of the baryonic cycle, ultimately seeking to understand how galaxies form and evolve.
Here are some topics I work on. Feel free to get in touch for questions, comments, and ideas! Enjoy my humble webpage.
